All of a sudden, summer is upon us. That means sweaty days and muggy nights - NYC, just like most of the country, turns into a total armpit during the summer. When all you want to do is hide out in front of the AC, slip on one of these stunners, get outside, and live it up!

This Nasty Gal number:

You don’t need us to tell you that the early '90s are back in a big bad way. We're celebrating our 20th anniversary this year at BUST and it might be making us a bit nostalgic for neon colors and body-con designs. Nasty Gal knows our pain. This fun dress would look fly with your favorite studded denim vest. Bonus points if you actually wore clothes like this in 1993!

These classy Eshaktis:

Eshakti is an amazing company where the clothes can be customized and made-to-your-measurements. You can buy their super-cute stuff in standard sizes XS-6X or you can give them about a dozen or so of your own personal measurements and they ship you a customized piece!!! This is amazing if you, like me, are a gal who is packing heat upstairs and doesn’t normally fit off-the-rack dresses.

Some Pin Up Girl chic:

The modern day vixen will love everything from Pin Up Girl Clothing. This dress is for the pin-up goddess in all of us. Look at the print…RETRO TIKI FOR THE WIN!

This Mod faux multi:

Don’t you just love a dress that gives the illusion of being multiple pieces in one? It makes you look like you made a real effort, when you really just threw something on. This dress from Modcloth also features some sheer lace realness in the middle, you saucy flirt!

This cozy shirt-dress:

Did you know that Doc Martens, the brand we have grown to love for their shitkickers, has a clothing line! It is just as awesome as their boots, but with a tough and feminine appeal. This tie-die dress is just begging to be paired with a pair of well-worn Doc’s.

A breezy maxi (of course):

A great maxi dress is an essential element in any gal’s wardrobe. I love my maxi-dress’s because 1. You can hide your bug-bite covered gams, 2. Underpants are optional (wink wink) 3. You feel like a floaty goddess all day. This one from Lulu's is super colorful and great for summertime.

Some snazzy prints:

Summer dresses give you the great opportunity to play around with colors and prints. This dress from Effie’s Heart features a red balloon print. Pretty whimsical, no?

More prints!

Can Asos do no wrong? This dress is mid-length to keep you covered if the wind whips up, leopard print to bring out your wild side, and scoop back to keep the hot and sticky summer off your back. I want this on my bod  ASAP.

Eco-friendly fresh:

If you are of the eco-persuasion, this organic cotton wrap-dress is a great bet. Indigenous Clothing uses fair trade materials, low impact dyes, and has some good looking options.

More planet-lovin' goodness:

Synergy is another eco-clothing brand we love. This Moto dress features a full length zipper that adds a bit of edge and makes it easy to get in (and out) of.

Bettie Page beauty:

Swing dresses are fabulous for the summer because you can twirl your way through the hottest months of  summer. I like to slap on a pair of bike shorts underneath in order to keep the peep-show private. This dress from Bettie Page will also look great in the fall with some tights and a cardigan.

Now tell us - what are your favorite summer digs?
