culture on the cutting edge, on Tuesday, August 12th, we will be mixing
the best in female nouveau cirque variety acts with a stellar concert
performed by some of the best female artists around! Dr. Martens is a proud sponsor of BUST Magazine's 15-Year Anniversary Celebration Concert at the Salon Perdu at Spiegleworld in New York.

forever enchanting, funny, and crafty Amy Sedaris! Live musical
performances will be provided by Morningwood, Free Blood, and Leslie
Hall. JD Samson (Le Tigre, Men) will be rockin' the decks to get all
our booties shaking. And Mr. Murray Hill will kill us with laughter
from his hilarious antics, while the sultry World Famous *BOB*, NYC's
bravest and bawdiest burlesque performer and The Pontani Sisters, will
dazzle us with their best birthday burlesque act. Also, NYC's Lady
Circus will be on hand to amaze the audience with aerial acrobatics,
stilt walking, and fire-breathing! Every ticket holder will not only
have the most memorable evening ever, but all ticket holders to BUST's 15-Year Celebration Concert will have a special invite to BUST's

PERFORMANCES BY:
Amy Sedaris
Amy Sedaris started her comedic career as a member of Chicago-based
troupe Second City, further endearing herself to audiences as
quirky-lady Jerri Blank in the television series Strangers with Candy. She has made appearances in the films Elf, The School of Rock, and the remake of Bewitched, as well as on television shows including Sex and the City, Just Shoot Me!, and The Colbert Report.
In addition to her numerous acting gigs, Sedaris runs a cupcake and
cheeseball business out of her NYC apartment called Dusty Food
Cupcakes. Her dislikes include bamboo, Mylar balloons, polyester dinner
napkins, hot sauce, homemade soaps, high-fiving, gourds, futons, and
constipation.
Morningwood
Morningwood frontwoman Chantal Claret--a native New Yorker--knows how to
blow a crowd away with her pipes. When the band formed in 2001, Claret,
guitarist Richard Steel, drummer Japa Keenon, and bassist Pedro
Yanowitz were almost immediately thrust into the spotlight due to their
hedonistic, hook-infused, super-fun brand of pop rock. The band is
rumored to currently be putting the finishing touches on a new album.
Free Blood
Free Blood started with a simple mission: create the perfect soundtrack
for rockin' parties. The instrumentation is kept intentionally sparse
(two mics, bass guitar, and a drum machine) for easy maneuverability in
minimal performance space. While they became popular strictly as a
live-show group, the duo has released three albums, most recently May
2008's EP entitled Never Hear Surf Music Again.
Leslie Hall
Leslie Hall is notorious not only for the hip-hop electro sound of
Leslie and the LY's, but her ultra-glamorous collection of gem sweaters
and gold lame. Her Web site, gemsweater.com, features Leslie modeling
her impressive collection of sweaters and has become a bona fide
Internet sensation. She has over 45,000 MySpace friends. Born and
raised in Ames, Iowa, Hall eventually migrated to The School of the
Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated in
2006. Currently, Leslie and the LY's are touring to promote their new
album, Cewebrity.
JD Samson formerly of Le Tigre
JD Samson grew to fame as one-third of the hugely popular electro femme
band Le Tigre. Now embarking as a solo artist and DJ, Samson has
collaborated with Junior Senior, and is a member of both The New
England Roses and Peaches' live band, The Herms. Along with her
deliberately androgynous sex appeal, Samson has an expressed interest
in queer studies. As co-founder of the group "Dykes Can Dance" in New
York City, Samson hopes to combat the "lesbian as bad dancer"
stereotype.
Mr. Murray Hill
As the "hardest working middle-aged man in show business," Mr. Murray
Hill has written, produced, and starred in several theatrical
performances, including A Murray Little Christmas, The Murray Hill
Show, and Murray Hill's Oscar Party. He's a renowned host, in-demand
emcee, and dazzling all-around showman. Currently, Mr. Murray
Hill--sometimes called "Mr. Showbiz,"--is starring in the Off-Broadway
show This is Burlesque, which he produced and wrote with Angie Pontani.
The World Famous *BOB*
A sultry blond bombshell, *BOB* has graced the pages of New York Magazine, BUST, Interview, and Esquire, as well as books such as Hotel LaChapelle and New Burlesque.
In addition to her Burlesque performances, *BOB* is known for charming
audiences with her enthralling emcee skills. For the past four years,
*BOB* has produced a monthly show in New York City entitled "The World
Famous *BOB* Presents!" She's the recipient of four New York Burlesque
Festival Golden Pastie Awards, including Most Influential/Inspiring
Performer, Performer with the Best Boobs, and Most Likely to Still be
Doing Burlesque at Age 60.
The Pontani Sisters
The
world famous Pontani Sisters--named the number-one burlesque attraction
in the country by AOL--are known for the sheer variety and charisma of
their acts. With over 40 routines, the Sisters dance and shimmy
seamlessly whether decked out as cowgirls, princesses, or vixens.
With several appearances on Late Night with Conan O'brien under their belts and features in BUST, The Washington Post, Newsweek, and dozens of other publications, The Pontani Sisters have proven themselves the glamorous poster-women for New Burlesque.
Lady Circus
Lady
Circus is a troupe of eight women that "specialize in a concoction of
riot and glamour." The Lady Circus make a show that is fun and wild,
all full of women performers. Stilts, fire eating, acrobatics, and
flying, this show has it all.
BabyCakes
In
a city dominated by cupcakes overflowing with sugar, flour and butter
cream, it’s easy for those with delicate tummies to feel left out.
BabyCakes offers all natural, organic and delicious alternatives free
from the common allergens: wheat, gluten, dairy, casein and eggs. Every
guest at BUST's 15-Year Anniversary Party will enjoy a complimentary birthday cupcake during the pre-party in the DJ Tent.
