15-Year Party Wrap Up!

By: Dawn in General

Thank you to everyone who joined BUST in blowing out the birthday candles with us at our 15-Year Anniversary Party! I can't explain the venue, Spiegelworld, as anything but breath-taking. With a full180 degree  view of Manhattan and Brooklyn, the waterfront setting that was complete with hammocks, cabanas, an outdoor dance floor, and 3 circus tents (!!!) was absolutely unbelievable.

JD Samson (MEN/Le Tigre) got things started right on the turntables. As people began fill the venue, guests immediately started snapping pix at the free Dr. Martens photo booth and lining up for their goodie bag stuffed with goodies from Dr. Martens, Crunch Gym, Babeland, Sublime Stitching, Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, Drawn and Quarterly, Quirk Books,  Janome, Mpress Records, Blackheart Records, Righteous Babe, Emotibles, and Blue Q! The pre-party was off to an amazing start. But then, 10 stilt walkers emerged to completely take over the dance floor for what turned into a total stilted dance party!

Meanwhile, our Dr. Martens cupcake girls passed out birthday treats courtesy of BabyCakes Bakery! They were devoured quick! And how adorable are those aprons?! They're from Jessie Steele, and certainly make cookin' good lookin'!

With drinks, cupcakes, and goodie bags in hand, guests were ready for the main show.  MC Amy Sedaris was looking adorable as usual, wearing a blue dress embroidered with the words, "I like rum..." Awesome. Leslie Hall was incredible with her gold spandex pants, back up dancers, and projection video of Cher. Next up was the Lady Circus performing silk aerial acrobatics. Everyone was speechless and in complete awe. Definitely one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen.

Free Blood then took the stage and completely rocked out. The World Famous *BOB* did a saucy number followed by Murray Hill, CEO of Show Business, who took the stage with quite a crew of characters!

Finally, headlining act, Morningwood finished off the show with an incredible performance. Lead singer Chantal commanded the audience, and they listened. It’s quite the workout seeing this as it’s completely impossible not to dance.

A big big thank you to Dr. Martens for making this party possible, and also to all of our bands, performers, BabyCakes, goodie bag sponsors, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Here’s to the next 15!!!

Check back for MORE PIX SOON!!!
