Ink, Y'all!

paula-deen-butter-tattoo-2.jpgSometimes there really isn't a good way to start this other than to just jump in with the meat of the story, so that's what I'm going to do.
There is a young woman in this world with a Paula Deen tattoo.
Lindsey Mitchell was apparently so enamored of the southern cook that she got a tat of a stick of butter with the words ''butter, y'all.''
I'm not going to judge anyone for their ink choices. This isn't even the craziest idea I've seen (the same site has a post about a woman with Rachael Ray's face on her back - that might take the poorly-made, 30-minute cake if you ask me). But I do have to wonder how Lindsey is going to feel about this down the road.
I hope she abides by my personal ink theory - that even if you are no longer interested in whatever it is you had inked on your body, at one time it was important enough to you to do that, so you should see it as a representation of that chapter in your life.
If you're wondering what the lady herself thought about it, there's a video after the cut of her talking about how great it is.
So, are there any BUSTies out there with crazy ink? Something other people might scoff at? Something everyone swears you are going to regret? Let's hear all about them! -Liza

I got a tattoo of my cat named Mady (her nickname was Boo) because she was put down a year ago from a tough struggle with kidney failure. It was hard on all of us because we had to medicate all her food and inject a bag of water into her neck everynight.
So after we put her down i got a tat of her curled up with a ribbon wrapped around her saying "Mady Boo".
Some old women that come into the store i work at scowl at it, some love it. At least if all my kids and grandkids abandon me at my death bed in 60 years, my cat will always be there. smilies/smiley.gif

Anita, that's the sweetest thing ever. I love that tat and I haven't even seen it! My family had to put a 16-year-old dog down last year, my mom had the hardest time with it because he had always been attached to her the most. She's actually talked about getting a portrait of him if she could find someone who was really good at them. I don't know if she'd ever really do it, though. I would. -Liza

I don't know, I think it's kind of cute, actually. And Paula Deen's response was adorable. That Rachael Ray tattoo, however, is absolutely alarming, as is the woman's statement to go along with it.

I recently got a tattoo of a cupcake and below it is says FEMINIST right on my inner forarm! No one paticularly singles this tattoo out but Im pretty proud of it smilies/cheesy.gif. The usual comments I get is that they wont look good when Im older...but hey I'm pretty sure the rest of me is going to degrade in time too and if I care about that kind of stuff when Im much older I am going to feel like I've take many a step back on my personal views and beliefs of what is important in life.

I have an artichoke tattoo on the back of my arm. It is right next to a tattoo of lotus flowers, yet the one I ALWAYS get comments on is the artichoke. People want a reason why I got it, and when my reason is simply that I love them and think they look cool, they act like it isn't a good enough reason! It is so silly to me that people don't even question my lotus tattoo but are appalled at my artichoke when the reasons I got both of them are the same!

I thought this was a liberal tat. As in that whole "guns or butter" debate... yanno, how conservatives want us to spend money on national defense and liberals want to spend it on social issues like hunger. I would have been more impressed with that reasoning.

I have a pretty big tat of a geisha, butterflies and flowers on my chest/arm. People always give me crap because I am getting my master's to become a therapist. It's like they think therapists can't have tattoos. I must admit I sometimes feel awkward and different around my non-tattooed classmates. I love my tat though and am proud of all the pain I had to go through to get it!
