christmasUsually, I am not into the idea of Christmas albums... especially rock Christmas albums.

However, Blackheart Records, Joan Jett's record label, has proved me wrong. They are releasing an album that sounds so cool you'll want to embrace the holiday spirit.

A Blackheart Christmas is available on vinyl for the very first time. The album features holiday standards from Girl in a Coma, The Dollyrots and original tunes from Seattle punks The Cute Lepers and veteran Blackheart band The Vacancies. A modern take on Silent Night closes out the 11-track offering recorded with Joan Jett on vocals and guitar.

Jett's Blackheart Records, a company she started over 25 years ago, made her the first woman to start her own rock label.

Geez, I'm all about the Joan Jett love but are we really not even waiting for Halloween before we start pimping our Christmas releases?

Agreed with Matt. Halloween and Thanksgiving get skipped over by most!
I do love me a good Christmas mix, and love Joan Jett keeping it on through her label!

Hey Kate, I think the record will be available soon as we just received a press release about it. You can buy it on blackheart records website.

actually the record was available for last year's christmas, you can buy it on itunes.
