Girls With Slingshots

It's always nice to see a woman makin' it big in a dude's world. Comics are generally written by fellas and for fellas. That is why I am pleased to present Girls With Slingshots-a web comic written by the uber talented Ms. Danielle Corsetto!

You won't find any steroid-induced guys in spandex or damsels-in-distress in this strip. Girls With Slingshots features two leading ladies-Hazel, a sardonic lush, and Jamie, a bubbly babe who isn't afraid to show off her lady-curves. Take the time to read all the strips and you will find a lil' bit of dominatrix, a vagina club, some veganism, and a talking cactus. Don't ask, just read...

While I am on the subject of comics-for-ladies, check out Ms. Jess Fink's erotic web comic Chester 5000. I leave you with two words... Robot porn.

No, Danielle also sells books of the comic on her website.

I've been reading Girls With Slingshots for about a year and am hopelessly in love with it. The writing is smart and funny and the art is fantastic. My friends and I love this comic and everything about it.

DANIELLE CORSETTO FTW! Also, is it okay to get all hot and bothered over having sex w/ a robot? Cause I totally did...

I LOVE GwS. I stumbled upon it linked on another web-comic I read daily, and I haven't looked back. The characters are awesome. Kudos to BUST for shining a spotlight on Danielle Corsetto.

I'm a huge fan of comics in general, including GWS, so it's great to see Bust feature it. Please keep in mind that not all mainstream comics are written by guys for guys. Gail Simone, Kathryn Immonen, Sara Pichelli, G. Willow Wilson, Nicola Scott, Pia Guerra, and Amanda Conner are just a few of the amazing writers and artists working in comics. And, there are some awesome female characters out there too - Terry Moore's Echo and Strangers in Paradise are just a couple of examples. If you want find out more about women and comics, go to http://friendsoflulu.wordpress.com. And if you want to hear hilarious gals talking about comics and other pop culture awesomeness, check out www.geektress.com.

Ah! Brilliant! I am so glad to see GWS is getting mad publicity. I literally could not stop reading this comic. The amount of awesome web/book comics out there that aren't completely sexist are amazing...some of my favorites are Questionable Content and Anders Loves Maria...
Thanks for once again being so AWESOME, Bust!!!
