The sun is setting and it's officially New Year's Eve. Made any resolutions yet? I'm a last-minute type of girl myself, and most of my annual promises get made a glass of champagne or two in. So I was happy to learn that Cynthia Nixon--formerly of Sex in the City and currently acting as spokesperson for WE tv's national WE Volunteer campaign--is out there looking for those of us who remain ... While doing my daily trolling of the Internet, I came across the coolest thing ever. Artist Katie Paterson took a trip to Iceland and recorded the sounds of glaciers, which she then had pressed into ice records that were made from the drippings of the actual glaciers she recorded. (!!!) It's little nuggets of brilliance like this that make me happy to be alive, and whistle while I work and all that. To join in on the inspiration, go ... Read More

Dragging someone who is vocal about hating comedy to a comedy show, in three degree weather, is potentially more of a laugh riot than said show could ever hope to be; however, when my friend and I braved the icy NYC winds to see Sandra Bernhard perform a sold out show at Joe's Pub last night, she for sure managed to pull off entertaining us even better than we entertain ourselves.
Live comedy can be a painful, awkward, mortifying experience, and yet certain ... Read More

BUST girl Emily Rems left a little something in my inbox this holiday season, and here I am, on Christmas, to share it with you. Call me a giver. For those of you celebrating, or for those of you just celebrating fashion, enjoy: Third and Delaware.
Some mad genius is meticulously gathering clothing highlights from each and every episode of Roseanne--providing colorful stills, snarky (or sincere?!) commentary, and careful labeling (down to the ... Read More

Back when we were looking to make some decorations for the BUST Holiday Craftacular here in NYC, we hit on some great instructions for how to make some slammin' snowflakes. Our intern, Clare, made a bunch of these to hang around the space, and they were such a hit that folks kept asking all day how we made them.
Well, we're about to share our secret below. Watch Intern Clare as she takes a few pieces of paper, makes a couple of snips, and then with a stick ... Read More

As the below video proves, the characters on the popular MTV Jerzploitation series, Jersey Shore, are simply method actors following a clearly defined script. Oh, and one of them is actually British. The REAL Situation (Feat. MTV Jersey Shore's The Situation, Snooki, and Pauly D) - watch more funny ... Read More

Poor Snookie, she may not be the dumbest Guidette on the show, but she is the clearly the favorite for parodies, well the Situation comes close. I dont know, Snookie is the favorite around here too, she reminds me a little of Donut, from the classic Switchblade Sisters. Who's your favorite?

Candy Rain is sponsoring an up-and-up event that all city folk should be thinking about. Heather Loop is organizing a ride n' protest against the removal of the Williamsburg bike lane.
This Saturday (12/19) Heather Loop and other participants are going to shed shirts and pants, too to oppose the removal of this lane. (FYI: The lane cost $11k to build and then $15k to remove - nice to see your tax dollars being used to take away recreational livelihood ... Read More
