YOUNITY Wants You!

Posted by: Web Intern in Artsy |

Are you a cool chick making cool art? If so, you should know about YOUNITY. Founded in 2007 by New York City artists Alice Mizrachi and Toofly, the organization's mission is to provide a forum for women artists to share their ideas and showcase their work. According to YOUNITY: 'The confines of galleries were too rigid and staid; the 'white cube' did not lend much room for personal expression and individual style. [We] wanted to create a ... Read More

Being Cindy Sherman - on Sundance

Posted by: Web Intern in Boob Tube |

The Sundance Channel brings you 3 screenings of the film Guest of Cindy Sherman. Paul H-O is just a regular ol' Joe who crashes art gallery openings, video camera in hand, and entertains artists with witty assessments of their work, thus gaining quite a fan following in the New York art scene in the 1990's. One of the ladies he won over was the internationally acknowledged, press-shy Cindy Sherman. Sherman was regarded as one of the ... Read More

Those Darlin's Blublocker collabo!

Posted by: Laurie in Music Stuff |

Two of my favorite things! The girl band of hillbilly stompers, Those Darlin's have collaborated with BluBlocker Sunglasses. Fans who buy their new vinyl record at select indie retailers get a free pair of the sunglasses.  This offer begins on the first Record Store Day Presents Vinyl Saturday happening June 20th. Not since the Oak Ridge Boys has Blublockers supported a musical act.  I am impressed. If you are not familiar, go ... Read More

Aside from the music being serene and awesome, on top of an open bar, it was also at the Hayden Planetarium in the National History Museum in New York. The album played to a packed planetarium while we gazed up at the night sky and watched planet Earth expand and disappear as we basically traveled through the solar system. ... Read More

Headed to Bonnaroo? If so, you're probably thinking about the music more than the water you'll be drinking, but trust us, once you get there and that hot Tennessee sun is beating down on your noggin (hope you remembered sunscreen!), you'll be grateful for any drop of H2O you can slurp. Lucky for you, BUST has the inside scoop on how you quench your thirst for FREE (girl, you know how expensive bottled water can get at concerts) and help ... Read More
