Intern Stephanie G

In celebration of the anniversary of the infamous pro-choice ruling of Roe v. Wade, local New York feminist filmmakers are holding screenings of two films this Thursday, January 14th. Obvious Child, co-written and produced by previous BUST intern Anna Bean, is a romantic comedy about an unplanned pregnancy, an abortion, and a great first date in an unlikely location. The second film, I Had an Abortion, documents the views of 10 women (including famed feminist Gloria Steinem) as they explain their experiences regarding women's choices throughout the decades.

The screening will be followed by an open discussion with the filmmakers along with representatives of NARAL Pro-Choice New York. The event will be held at Wollman Hall at The New School (enter at 66 W. 12th Street, walk across courtyard and take elevator to 5th Floor of 65 W. 11th Street. Between 5th and 6th Ave.) and runs from 7pm-9pm. It is being sponsored by NARAL Pro-Choice New York as well as the Soapbox Inc. Winter Term. For more information click here.

For those of you outside of the New York City area, do you know of any events or celebrations happening in your neck of the woods for this historic event? We'd love to hear about it!

Awesome! We need more Roe Anniversary events like this, especially in lieu of the Roeder/Tiller trial beginning in the same week!

I am Pro-Life, but I still consider myself a feminist.

I'm not sure I understand how anyone can be pro life and a feminist. Your missing the boat. Being pro life means YOU would DENY a fellow woman from making a decision about their body. In the spirit of sisterhood I have to cry that you would choose to deny a woman any right. It matters little weither it equality in the work force or their right to abort a fetus.
As for the rest, it would be great to see the films locally no matter what state.

This probably isn't the forum to conduct a debate on abortion, but I think the fetus has a voice that should be heard too. Don't they have the right to life? When it comes down to it, it depends what you consider when a separate "life" begins.
That's just my opinion.

SGT , you sound as though you don't understand why it's important to be pro-choice. It's all about women having the right to control their own bodies. How can you ignore that important right. Also, making abortion illegal doesn't stop it. It just means we will have women dying from going to underground abortion clinics. Would you prefer that?

As someone who had to choose, this brightened my day enormously. And as a filmmaker, I wish I could fly up for this!
Thanks for sharing!

If businesses ignore this and select a Black Belt without evaluating their skills, experience, and aptitude, it's highly unlike that they will be able to do proper justice to the implementations, nike jordan packages let alone derive any real-time benefits from the implementations.

So, what exactly can businesses do to select the right Black Belt? Well, they just need to follow the standard air jordan 7 evaluation and selection process as described in the following paragraphs.
