Kamala Lopez is adamant. And we all should be. Just last Thursday was Women's Equality Day, but the thing is, we're still not equal. The fact is, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has still not been ratified, and we need this shit in writing.

Ms. Lopez recently helped launch this campaign with the premiere of this brief video. She plans produce 20 short films over the next year in order to bring about the awareness necessary to finally get the ERA ratified.

Fabulous! I have been trying to rally people in a few of the non ratified states to get it ratified locally so that in can go into effect. This has been a long time coming. We need to do ourselves and Alice Paul proud!

There is another ERA protest going on right now. We are asking women to return their jury summons cards with this statement: "Without an amendment to the Constitution, I am not a full and equal citizen of the US". Some of us are getting excused, which means the US recognizes that without an ERA, we are not equal citizens and therefore, do not have to fulfill the duties of full citizenship, ie., jury duty.
But go to our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=129935900376251 or our blogspot http://womenofthejury.blogspot.com/ to read more about our protest. Remember, sending in the postcard IS the protest. If you want to go further, and risk jail and a fine, you go, grrl!
