SXSW Breakout Bands?

Posted by: Kristina Uriegas-Reyes in Music Stuff |

There was a time in which I was totally oblivious to how popular a band was. Usually my naivety went along the lines of: “This band is awesome, everyone must love them!” Now I know that's not quite the case and, whenever I can, I try and spread the word of awesome, small time or local bands I’ve fallen in love with.  At last year’s SXSW, favorite bands I’d never heard of included Best Coast and Hunx and His ... SXSW Street Style

Posted by: Kristina Uriegas-Reyes in Style File |

This past week I was able to catch some of the most stylish South by Southwesters walking to and from the massive amount of shows and parties going on. From 6th Street to Waterloo Records, spring style was popping up everywhere. While I hear it's still chilly where I live in NYC, my hometown, Austin, Tx, decided to skip spring altogether and head right for summer sunshine. And it's raining. Goddamn, don't these men have jobs? Apparently the thing topping their to-do list is 'YELL AT WOMEN ON STREET' followed by the less important, but equally creepy, tasks of: 'hide in bushes & wait' and 'make lots of calls from ... BUST at SXSW

Posted by: Kristina Uriegas-Reyes in General |

Thursday was one of BUST's awesome SXSW events featuring Harvard, This Time Next Year, Wild Orchard Children, Orbs, Gatsbys American Dream, and Eisley. The bands were amazing, especially Eisley, who I'd always wanted to see! Their melodic songs definitely set the mood for the rest of the evening. Everyone seemed to have a great time, including myself. I made some new BUST-loving friends, had a few drinks and rocked out to some great ... Read More
