If you have the afternoon off tomorrow, or work weird hours like I do, consider dropping by 92Y Tribeca for In the Fullness of Time:  Women Writers on Life After 50.  The downtown cultural center will host a panel of five highly influential female writers, in a discussion of "what it means to grow older as a woman in our world."  The writers attending made first made noise in the 1970s, introduced new vocabulary, had a hand in the development of the ... Tomorrow, June 16th, our own BUST-y darling Emily Rems will be appearing on local internet radio show, "Rew and Who?" This segment of the show, entitled "Andy Warhol's 15 Minutes of Fame," runs from 4-6, but you can catch Ms. Rems promptly at 5:15. "...15 Minutes..." is a "quirky, raw internet show featuring 'rizing starz and living legendz' [of which Ms. Rems is certainly the latter] in and passing through NYC...Oprah meets the Lower East Side..." I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel...the picture of free, ... Read More

Never heard the radio show, except for following Ralphie’s slight obsession in A Christmas Story. Never entirely saw the musical/movie, finding the incessant, nasal optimism to stray a bit too far from my own sarcastic cynicism in the Vast Spectrum of Positivity. All in all, I found her irritating, ... Read More
