The first graphic novel I ever bought was Death: The High Cost of Living. I was a teenage gothette just figuring out that there were all sorts of strange and wonderful things out there that I hadn't discovered yet, and then one day my friend came to school with a little thing called the Death Gallery, full of these gorgeous pictures of this little goth girl that sorta even looked like me (if you squinted and washed out the color).

I know, I know, it's Twilight, and Bella Swan is probably the most anti-feminist character in the history of 'literature,' but this soundtrack is GOOD! The last one was laughably terrible and full of your standard Hot Topic fare: Paramore, Linkin Park, and a mid-90s-esque ballad from R-Patz himself. Sufjan Stevens played his second show at the Bowery Ballroom on October 5th as part of a small tour he is performing to workshop some new songs. Opening band Cryptacize got the sold-out show warmed up with pretty song stylings and herky jerky dance moves provided by lead singer Nedelle Torrisi. Nedelle also took the stage for background vocal duties during the entirety of Sufjan's set.
