My brother is pretty awesome and always tips me off to rad bands way before I ever would've heard about them. This weekend he dished the goods: Dreamdate is a two-gal-one-guy trio from Oakland, California and I can't stop listening to the tracks on their MySpace page. Feeling burnt out from Fashion Week? I was cruising the Girl Wide Web looking for some new online stores, when I stumbled upon Vanessa Jean . She makes handmade purses, wallets, and bags out of...DUCT TAPE. Some of the items are super cute. Have to admit...I'm totally impressed!!! I have duct tape in my apartment at all times. Always the easiest bootleg quick fix it for your house hold needs, but who knew that it was also handy for lookin' good?!

New Orleans has been dealt yet another blow this past week with Hurricane Gustav's visit to the Gulf Coast, but one of the best ways to help the city heal has always been contributing to its musicians.
