Betty--Gunning for decades?

We've known for some time that Betty White would be on SNL, we just didn't know when. Or if she would actually be hosting. Now it's confirmed, the 88-year-old actor will have her day on May 8, 2010.
SNL Executive Producer Lorne Michaels told USA Today he was moved by the Facebook group, "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!" group. We're thrilled Lorne noticed its nearly half a million fans.
What we didn't know, till a quick search of the Internets, is that maybe Betty has been hot to do this for decades. Check this clip!
