How To Help After Hurricane Sandy

Posted by: Erika W. Smith in General |

For the third day in a row, BUST offices are closed, thanks to Hurricane Sandy. We’re hoping our fellow East Coasters are safe and sound, with electricity and a long Netflix queue to keep them warm and occupied. I’m lucky enough to have power, and I’ve spent my hurricane days catching up on Mad Men and making cinnamon pancakes. However, many people on the East Coast are less fortunate. The always-controversial Lena Dunham strikes again with a new campaign ad for Barack Obama, in which she compares voting for the first time to losing your virginity. In the video, called “Your First Time,” Lena says, “Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody. The article begins with the offensive opening sentence, “While the campaigns eagerly ... Read More

Imagine a land where boys play with dolls and girls want to grow up to be firemen – and nobody makes fun of them for it. A land where girls don’t worry about being pretty and happily proclaim, “I like what I look like.” A land where boys know that it’s alright to cry. A land where “you’ll do what you like, and be who you are.” This is the land imagined in the album, book, and TV special ... Read More
