Brooklyn Bowl, the huge bowling alley/concert space/restaurant/bar in Williamsburg, is giving us a treat tonight, with a FREE M.I.A. concert! Doors open at 9:30pm and lines start at 7pm.

M.I.A. features the eclectic talents of British singer/songwriter Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, Academy Award nominee and two-time Grammy Award nominee. Influenced greatly by her early life, which involved being displaced due to the Civil War in Sri Lanka, her debut album's title, "Arular", is a tribute to the nom du guerre her father took when he joined the Tamil independence movement. Her second album, "Kala", was named for her mother, and also reflected her experiences with war, immigration politics, and relationships. Her third and most recent album, "Maya", has been her biggest global success to date.

Extra Treat: Rye Rye's new single, "Sunshine", featuring none other than M.I.A., is out and now available on iTunes. Click here to download now.

Be sure to check out M.I.A. tonight and experience musical stylings that truly defy classification.
