What do you get for the food enthusiast in your life? Appliances are too risky in case they have it, and cookbooks are tricky too. Here is a list of excellent items that food enthusiasts, foodies and everyday eaters will love, and get great use out of!

1. Joseph Joseph Spaghetti Measures, $7

I always make way too much pasta. Always. Except for that one time that I thought well that doesn’t look like enough but I always make too much so I’ll assume it is. It wasn’t. Well this handy dandy spaghetti measure could solve this problem with a simple way to measure servings!

2. Casserole Carrier, $48

My mom gave me a cupcake carrier for Christmas one year, and besides making me look like a whimsical businesswoman with a cupcake briefcase, it has proved extremely useful for transporting cupcakes to bake sales and birthdays. Now I can add to my transportable potluck repertoire anything that can be baked in a 9x13 inch dish! Carry your casseroles to and fro in this nifty casserole tote.

3. State-by-food Tote Bag, $25

This organic cotton tote bag features illustrations of food from each state, from the NY bagel to Montana’s huckleberries, each state is represented with a regional food or dish. What a stylish way to carry your edibles from the market and learn about the food geography of the country while you’re sitting on the bus on the way home!

4. Daisy-Shaped Egg Fry Ring, $14, set of four

Are you finding yourself bored of brunch? Is breakfast bothering you due to the lackluster presentation of your meal? Look no further than these rings that will help your fry your eggs in a perfect daisy shape, ideal for topping English muffins!

5. Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan, $44

The first time I saw this pan was on Oprah’s Favorite Things show, where she exclaimed over the pan because “EVERY BROWNIE HAS AN EEEEEEEEDDGE!!!” The audience was so excited. Now you can get that chewy texture on ALL of your brownies! It is exciting.

6. Baking Lover’s Necklace, $15

Speaking of baking, if you’re a baked good enthusiast you’ll love this silver pewter stand mixer and baking pan on an 18” silver-plated chain. Show the world how much you love cupcakes and cookies! I already have my muffintops to let the world know on behalf of myself, but this is cool too.

7. Perfect Pastry Cutting Board, $30

This swanky cutting board has pastry measurements marked on the yellow birch board. Shape your tarts and pies in perfect circles and impress everyone you know!

8. Beer Making Kit, $64

I’ve received a great many kits as gifts over my years. A Bonsai tree kit, a card making kit, various Jazzy Jewelry kits and watercolor sets. None of them ever really work out. My Bonsai tree never grew, I never really wear anything that can be described as “jazzy” and I kept using the cards plain without any of the stuff you were supposed to decorate them with. But this is one kit I would surely make use of! I can only imagine that announcing that I was brewing my own beer in my house would sound incredibly hip and interesting or creepy and weird. But regardless I would have such a great understanding of what beer is and how it is made, so who would be laughing then? Me, because I would be tipsy and full of homemade beer.

9. The Nancy Drew Cookbook: Clues to Good Cooking, $13

I don’t remember Nancy Drew preparing a whole lot of meals while she was searching for the old clock and the mystery at Lilac Inn. But apparently she was a great cook! She certainly was a busy fictional lady. These recipes tie into the most famous of the books and come from favourite characters, like Bess’s Secret Chocolate Waffle recipe. Some intriguing sounding recipes include The Cousins’ Special Cauliflower, Double Jinx Salad and Haunted Showboat Pralines. The book debuted in 1973 and has been a fan favorite since it’s publication. Check out Jennifer Fisher’s in-depth look at the book on her Nancy Drew Sleuth blog.

10. I Heart Bacon Necklace, $20

Wear this juicy pewter pig with a detailed carving knife from an 18” chain for a slightly morbid reminder that animals can be delicious. A great conversation starter, but you probably won’t make friends with any veggies on days that you wear it!
