There’s nothing funnier than a lady with a handgun- when sketch group Onassis writes the sketch. Written by Mike Scollins, this particular sketch was inspired by a New York Times Magazine article about guns marketed to women. “There's not a crazy wacky character to it,” said Onassis member Sue Galloway. “Just people reacting to something strange in their world.”

Hilarious hosts Elna Baker and Kevin ...

I love pickles. They are a hot commodity in the refrigerator at home; my entire family devours them as snacks, appetizers, condiments and sides until entire jars are emptied within the span of a couple of days. Chris Forbes of Sour Puss Pickles taught me how to make simple and delicious pickles that I know my family will love and I hope you will too.
Kirby pickles are best for pickling, generally. They are smaller than slicing ...

Amber Tamblyn writes an excellent regular Poetry Corner column in BUST, and in April she held a poetry competition with BUST and Buzznet. There was an incredible amount of entries but Amber managed to settle on one winner, and two runner up entries. The winning entry is “we all begin somewhere” by Chelsea Comeau, a Canadian poet and Education Assistant currently working on a full-length book of poetry that she hopes to someday ...

With a budget of zilch, the twin-powered team behind The Polish Brothers (Northfork, Twin Falls Idaho) wrote, directed, shot and starred in this exquisitely intimate and beautifully scored film that pays homage to the French New Wave and Claude Lelouch’s A Man and a Woman. Piratic Mark Polish plays Yves, an American photographer who runs into his ex, Sofia, a model-turned-journalist played by the ...

What exactly is chutney? Surely it must be one of the most mysterious foods that you can make and put in a jar, because not many people seem to know what it is. If you’re a condiment lover, it’s well worth an investigation to get to know this versatile saucy spread. According to Drake Page of the DP Chutney Collective, chutney is a sweet and spicy condiment, usually made with fruit, vinegar, spices and sugar to compliment savory ...

“I want to be a political wife, I’ve been training for this for all of my life,” Political Subversities performer Shaina Taub sings. “Let me in the sorority of Michelle Obama toned-arm candy.” “Political Wife” is just one of many hilarious sketches written and performed by musical sketch comedy group Political Subversities. It almost seems unfair that this massive group seems to be hogging all of ...

Today my sister turns 17 years old. When I was 17, I asked one of my friends to cut off all of my hair in her bathroom in a spontaneous burst of self-reinvention. I had my first serious boyfriend. I failed my driving test, not for the last time. I was in love with Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional. I started making zines, and I was 17 when I decided where to apply for university. In the same year I had sex for the first ...
