The Bicycle Film Festival is returning this week and it is going to be quite the party with films, music performances and art exhibits, oh my!

Tomorrow is opening night and it's being kicked off with a performance from Hungry March Band in the Sarah D. Roosevelt Park at 6 (yeah, they're the guys who played in the ocean at last year's Mermaid Parade , which is also this weekend).Or you can head over to South Street Seaport for a free show featuring the The Teenagers and The John Spencer Blues Explosion.

For the next four days, festival-goers will be burdened with the task of picking and choosing which one of the many events they want to go to. Thursday will be a Joyride between four SoHo galleries, each hosting a multimedia exhibit inspired by the bicycle. Maps will be available at each location.

Each day will have different viewings of collections of shorts about the bicycle. Subjects range from building bikes to celebrating bikes to bike journeys. There will be a few world premieres of feature length films, including 'Where Are You Go,' about the world's longest bike race around Africa, 'I Love My Bicycle: The Story of FBM Bikes,' chronicaling the 15 year reign of a beloved DIY bike apparel company, and 'The Third Wheel,' about the Pedicab industry. Each program costs $10.

Throughout the festival there will also be a handful of street fairs, parades and picnics. Each day closes with an after party, but the big finale will be on June 22nd at Lit Lounge. Starting at 10 and going to 4, bike lovers can celebrate by shaking it to tunes DJed by Peaches! Really, what's not to love? -Celeste
