A bunch of BUST editors and friends were asked to judge Jonathan Toubin’s  Soul Clap and Dance-Off  a few weekends ago, and we had SOOOOO much fun! Above is a pic of the winner, Elizabeth Arnold (aka #66) who's moves were undeniable. The second runner up was also fantastic, but we didn't catch his name because, frankly, judging is hard work and you need to drink the entire time, so by 2 am we were pretty wasted. Sorry #100! Well if there is one positive outcome out of this whole Polar Vortex thing, it’s that I’ve perfected a recipe for a delicious Rum Hot Toddy. It is the perfect night cap for a chilly evening. It's not too boozy and has no caffeine, so you can easily fall asleep and dream of coconut trees and beaches. I’m not a fan of whiskey, which is more traditional for a toddy, so of course you can substitute that or brandy for the rum, but this Kraken spiced ... Read More
If you’re new to the transcendent wonderfulness of Patton Oswalt, congratulations on finally making it out of your basement prison bunker, and please remember to wear dark glasses until your eyes adjust to the sun. It was a sad and shocking Sunday when the word got out that Lou Reed had passed away. There’s no denying the profound influence that his songs and persona had on hundreds of thousands of  bands, artists and freaks who wanted to move to New York City, soak up any cool that was left, do drugs, and make the scene. The Velvet Underground will always be known as the band with the least amount of commercial success who inspired the most malcontents to pick up ... Read More
