Three members of Pussy Riot who were arrested (Maria Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Ekaterina Samucevic) currently remain in jail as their appeal hearing has been postponed to October 10. This court hearing may be the last chance for the musicians to be set free; alternate option would be sending the women to remote penal detention centers where they fear for their safety.

As this important date for the band approaches, J.D. Samson and Michael O’Neill of the band MEN have created a new song and video in support of Pussy Riot, “Let Them Out Or Let Me In.”  The music video includes footage of Pussy Riot performances and images of the three women who are currently imprisoned.

J.D. Samson (also of feminist band Le Tigre) has been an avid supporter of the Free Pussy Riot movement.  She contributed to the Pussy Riot e-book and also organized a reading of the band members’ official statements on the eve of the trial’s original verdict back in August.

The band and their freedom is clearly still a controversial issue, judging by the number of dislikes and nasty comments on the video from Putin supporters.

Maria, Nadezhda, and Ekaterina’s Moscow Court hearing is on October 10th, 11 am local time (3 pm EST).  You can check out live coverage of the appeal here, and check out MEN's music video below!
