Big fan of gold? Then OPI has fantastic news for you. Inspired by “the world of 007,” according to the company's Facebook page, OPI will be releasing their newest shade, “The Man with the Golden Gun.” But this polish is a bit different than your average metallic gold shimmery topcoat—OPI’s version contains real 18-karat gold.
The polish is shown as a topcoat, painted over a contrasting deep red to show off the gold flecks. Unlike Rihanna’s custom 24-karat gold polish she wore to the Grammy awards, retailing for a bank-breaking $5,000, OPI’s version is a little more accessible to the public. No official word on the price yet, I think it's safe to assume that it won't be around 10 dollars per bottle that OPI normally retails for, you know, when it doesn’t have 18-karat gold floating around in it.
Don’t get too excited yet, because the polish won’t be released until October, in honor of James Bond's Golden Anniversary. I personally think it would look sleek paired with a high-contrast black manicure, but what do you think, BUSTies? Is this new polish chic, or too over-the-top?
