Sew Mo's Alice Bag is so insanely perfect, I'm considering writing a song about it. I've always considered terribly melodramatic poetry to be an inescapable rite of passage for teenagers. All that angst has to go somewhere, you know, and more often than not it ends up scrawled in a black velvet notebook from Waldenbooks, peppered with a few Morrissey quotes to round things out. Maybe I'm generalizing, but come on--we've all been there, right?

I'm so beyond excited for this month's release of Ghost World: the Special Edition, I can barely keep it together. According to Fantagraphics Books, this edition features not only the original comic and screenplay, but 200 pages of yummy extras: new GW strips and an introduction by Daniel Clowes, tons of artwork, notes and unused concepts, even movie posters and foreign edition covers. Oh, the ladies of the FLDS. Call them what you will, but it's sort of difficult to ignore their place as the style icons of summer '08. Fashion savvy girls and guys spent the majority of that news cycle all but creaming over the perfectly coiffed hair and constructed sleeves, and I thought for sure Marc Jacobs would be the first to send some warped (and probably awesome) version of the image down a runway.
