Perhaps there are some of you out there who, like me, still don't quite know what "zine" means. No worries, here's a quick explanation: "zine" (pronounced zeehn) is short for magazine, but that doesn't fully capture the spirit of a zine. To use the words of NYC Feminist Zinefest, a zine is "like a small, pocket-sized emissary of ideas".
But these definitions will only get you so far. This Saturday, February 25th, at the Brooklyn Commons, come experience feminist zine culture for yourself! There will be presentations to listen to as well as zines and artwork for sale.
Whether you're a zine lover, zine newbie, closet feminist, feminist curious, or openly feminist you should check it out!
For more information check out their site.
RSVP on Facebook.
