I learned of Sword of My Mouth, the post-rapture graphic novel by Jim Munroe and Shannon Gerard through a vanity prompted fluke. I came across a blog that mentioned a release party for the novel, and as a bonus for helping spread the word, Gerard was offering to draw original portraits of anyone who sent her a picture. I sent in my picture and received a portrait back the very next day, which is shown down below. Making actual contact with one of the authors of the book got me interested in the book itself (funny how that happens,) and now I can't shut up about it.
Sword of My Mouth is beautifully drawn and deals with a post-rapture urban environment that's filled with machine-gun wielding angels, men with skeleton hands, various mutations, babies with huge teeth, and sustainable farming.
It's pretty much got it all.
