Here’s a pop of psychedelic joy to brighten up your gloomy Tuesday!

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Sami Akbari, who performs as sami.the.great, has just released a video for her throwback single “Hear Me Now”.

Sami’s twee-yet-powerful voice and charmingly introspective songwriting usually bring Ingrid Michaelson to mind, but she puts on her Nancy Sinatra hat (or, more appropriately, flip wig) for this upbeat track. The video matches the deliriously fuzzy girl-group vibe with a heaping helping of lo-fi animation.

Check it out right here:

Don’t forget to stop by iTunes or Amazon for her self-titled album!
