There are many reasons I’m thankful that the Internet was invented. Without it, how would I get beer and cookies delivered to me without leaving the house or speaking to a human being? How would I read celebrity gossip without having to pay actual monies to a garbage tabloid magazine? Beth Höeckel, a 33 year old Baltimore native, makes beautiful and dreamy art. Her collages will simply blow your mind. They are creepy and sometimes sad, weird and nostalgic. Höeckel uses vintage magazine images (often of women) and places them in space age moonscapes, or against ominous skies, often with their backs to us, gazing at the freaky landscapes she creates.
