The exhibition highlights Finnish women's progress in democratic rights ever since 1906, when they were the second women in the world to be granted the vote, and the first in the world made eligible in national elections. The exhibition touches upon women's voting; reproductive rights; violence against women; women's and children's welfare; and women's rights in the workplace.100 Years of Women's Voices and Action in Finland will be opened at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 and remain on display through October 31. It is organized by Rutgers University's Center for European Studies in cooperation with the National Council of Women on Finland.Address: Center for European Studies, 102 Nichol Avenue, Douglass Campus, New Brunswick, New Jersey.At 12 noon on Monday, October 6, there will be a panel discussion on women's suffrage, "Transformative Effects, Unfulfilled Promise," chaired by the Rutgers University Women's and Gender Studies.
