When Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Alyson Greenfield realized her "Dear Lilith Fair 2010" blog wasn't going to land her a spot on the returning Lilith Fair tour she decided to start a women's music festival of her own!  The first annual Tinderbox Music Festival will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Southpaw (125 5th Ave) in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, and will feature 19 female artists including Bitch, Jenny Owen Youngs, Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers, Hank & Cupcakes, Larkin Grimm, Kalae All Day, and many more. 100% of the net proceeds from Tinderbox will go to NYC based organizations Girls Write Now and Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls to help ensure that empowering arts programs for young women continue. Tinderbox artists span the musical genres of rap, folk, rock, electronica, and world, and will perform on 2 stages from 3pm to 12am during the event. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 the day of the show which is basically like paying $1 per artist.  Come to Southpaw on September 26 to be part of it! Pick up a free copy of the Oct/Nov issue of BUST at the festival, check out some amazing female powered talent!
