Art From the Streets is a volunteer-run program in Austin, Texas providing a safe and encouraging environment where the positive spirit and creativity of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression. Volunteers facilitate twice-weekly open studio art classes which culminate in an annual art show where the homeless participants exhibit and sell their art to the general public-- breaking down barriers of prejudice and fear with feats of beauty and creativity, while at the same time bringing in some badly needed cash.
Don't miss the 18th Annual Show & Sale at our new location! The 2010 show will be held at St. David's Trinity Center, at 7th & Trinity, located right across the street from the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless.
$3 donation at the door. Original artwork starts at only $35. Parking lots nearby; street parking also available.
