On Friday, April 8th, we will be celebrating six years of queer rock and performance in Chicago. The traditional gifts for a sixth anniversary are either candy or iron. Since we’re still not sure which iron or candy products we’d like to receive, we’re just stuffing the gift registry with loads of camp, performance art, and the outstanding rock music for which we are so well known! This year’s anniversary will feature Flesh Hungry Dog Show favorites– Joan-Crawford-inspired rockers The Joans, The Patty Elvis Band, fronted by Chicago’s only lesbian Elvis impersonator, Patty Elvis, B-52s cover band, Planet Claire and a special reunion performance by the band that started it all, FLESH HUNGRY DOG.
Hosted by Chicago rock impresario Gary Airedale, the show will also feature "Bag of Fun" prize giveaways from The Pleasure Chest and the comedic stylings of Chicago's hottest comedic sister act, The Puterbaugh Sisters, and DJ Sky at the turntables.
The Flesh Hungry Dog Show starts at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8th, 2011 at Jackhammer (773-743-5772), 6406 N. Clark St. in Chicago. Jackhammer is a 21+ venue. Tickets are $15 at the door or $12 online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/164452
