Inspired by the critically acclaimed book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, the Skirball Cultural Center in L.A. has put together a new exhibition addressing gender equality as the human rights cause of our time. Through documentary photographs, visual art, sound installations, and interactive displays, the museum tells the stories of women around the glove who have changed their lives--and the lives of others--through education and self-determination. Through May 20. |
