Throughout her career as a photographer and director, cindy sherman has raised challenging questions about the representation of women in society and the media. Typically working as her own model, she explores the construction of identity by drawing from movies, Tv, magazines, the internet, and art history. The museum of modern art in new York has put together a retrospective of her work, featuring more than 170 photographs that trace her career from the groundbreaking series “untitled film stills” to her recent photographic murals that make their north american debut at the exhibition. Zoom in on the details at moma.org. |
