That's Women's Work Talent Show and Burlesque Fundraiser

When: June 22nd, 2012 - 7 p.m. - 2 a.m. Where: The Monarch Tavern - 12 Clinton St. That's Women's Work Arts Network strives to provide women artists with more than community. TWWAN offers women the resources to become financially self sufficient through their art, not only through business skills but in providing a supportive ear and a team of cheerleaders to encourage women to take risks and follow their dreams. At a time when women still absurdly struggle to earn wage parity and be represented in the upper reaches of power and where there still needs to be specialized awards and classes for women's art and literature just to make sure that women are represented for their brilliance, at this time, it is all the more important to band together to make and share opportunities, talents, skills and knowledge. On Friday June 22nd at the Monarch Tavern at 12 Clinton, TWWAN will be hosting its first burlesque fundraiser to cover our operating costs over the summer months. From TWWAN's network of nearly 400 strong, some brave and intrepid women have stepped forward to share their talents, from tap-dance to violin solos, girl bands, performance art with tiny pianos, and a gallery of stunning paintings by Joelle Circe it's to be an event to remember. Tickets are on sale through paypal at are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Event details and Pay Pal links can be found at https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/187245694736057/
Performers Include: Cassandra and Willow Rutherford Kimberley Dawkins Abigail Rachel Lapell Loretta Jean Joelle Circe Cassandra Witteman and David Jones Tova G Kardonne Dianne Montgomery Vanessa McGowan Virpi Kettu and much much more...
