2012 will be the 35th annual SISTERSPACE WEEKEND Festival - one of the nation's longest running lesbian festival! This year the festival is September 7-9 - it will be an incredible experience and the most affordable vacation you'll ever take! Featuring a full slate of performances on both Friday and Saturday nights, introducing a brand-new day stage for this year, entertaining and life-enhancing workshops, an awesome dance party, wonderful merchants and craftswomyn, plus bodyworkers, sports, drumming, and more, the Weekend provides the chance to connect and create community with hundreds of women from all over the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. The Weekend takes place at a beautiful, private and wooded camp in Darlington, MD - just steps away from the majestic Susquehanna River. You're free to explore the hiking trails down to the river, or to just hang out by the pool and socialize! Offering boundless opportunities for creativity and amusement (both organized and spontaneous), the Weekend is a great place to relax and rejuvenate yourself among friends both old and new. PERFORMANCES: Our Friday and Saturday night stage shows will leave you inspired -stay tuned for lineup announcement! DANCING: Dance 'til you drop! The dance is held after the Saturday night concert - around 10:30. WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSION & SUPPORT GROUPS: Participate in a multitude of workshops on a variety of subjects, as well as mealtime discussion/networking groups and 12-step program meetings. *We are still taking submissions - visit our website to submit your idea! ART SPACE: The Art Space returns with even more art and craft media to explore. Release the creative woman inside! Art workshops will be offered on a variety of subjects. FILMS & VIDEOS: Catch up on your lesbian cinema at the Weekend! A diverse selection of videos old and new will run all weekend. |
