Food For Thought Books, Flywheel Arts Collective and the Ladyfest Easthampton crew are coming together to bring you the Pioneer Valley Zine Fest/Ladyfest! a three day event celebrating DIY music and art in western mass!

Pioneer Valley Zine Fest/Ladyfest is a three day event that strives to bring accessibility to DIY art and zine making as well as supporting radical independent publishing. Additionally, we seek to celebrate musicians in the DIY underground whose gender identity falls outside of the dominate mainstream. Our goal is to bring writers, activists, artists and community members together through sharing, connecting, and collaborating. 


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 

Friday, April 26th:
-art opening(5:30pm) and benefit show (6pm) @ FLYWHEEL ARTS
Bands playing include -

Saturday, April 27th:
-Zine exhibition and workshops 11am to 5pm @ FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Workshops include:
-Responses to Sexual Violence with Smith Students Against Sexual Assault
-Incarcerated Realities with Tranzmission Prison Project
-Queering Anarchism/AK Press Book Reading
-White Privilege Workshop 

-benefit show 2 530pm @ FLYWHEEL ARTS

Zines, which are written in a variety of formats, strive to set importance on bringing literature, art, and politics out of a profit oriented industry. This lets information that is often exlusive to academic or privileged spheres available to a more general public. Zines offer a founding basis of Do-it-yourself “DIY” communities and encourage anyone to write fiction, non fiction, or anything else without the need of a publisher.
