Gender Amplified works to celebrate and support women in music production, and next month's Festival will include instructional workshops in music technology (such as "What is Sound?" and "Music Production on Smartphones"), networking opportunities (a space to make and share beats and a reception), and exciting discussions with acclaimed artists, producers, and scholars like artist/producer/activist Invincible, who produced award winning videos like "The Revival" about women in hip-hop, and "Locusts" exploring displacement and gentrification in Detroit, scholar Maureen Mahon, who wroteRight To Rock: The Black Rock Coalition and the Cultural Politics of Race, and many more. We'll round out the day with some great performances byGenesis BeAlluxe aka Laura Escudé, and headliners THEESatisfaction
 
Free, all-day event happening at Barnard College (117th Street and Broadway) from 12 pm to 11 pm on Sept. 28th.
