Featuring over 300 bands, Krist Novoselic, Wyclef Jean, Agnostic Front, Fishbone, Superchunk, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and others have joined the CBGB Festival line up from July 5th to 8th, 2012. Focusing on new music and emerging young bands, the CBGB Festival will stay true to the original mission of the CBGB & OMFUG club that once lived on the Bowery. The goal being to help new artists grow, gain visibility and be seen by the music industry.

The festival includes four key areas; live music stages, film premieres hosted by the film makers and screenings, a distilled spirits fest and entertainment conference panels with different festival components spread across 30 venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the four days. Pass and ticket prices are being kept as low as possible in comparison to other events around the country.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., has put together a showcase of 77 paintings, prints, and sculptures made by French women from the 18th and 19th centuries—a tumultuous time that saw the terrors of the french revolution and the restoration of the monarchy. Many of the rare works in the exhibition, called “Royalists to Romantics: Women Artists from the Louvre, Versailles, and Other French National Collections,” have never been seen outside of France.

With a goal of combating stereotypes and negative media images of their community, the International Black Women’s Film Festival in San Francisco screens movies made by and starring ladies of color. Now in its 10th year, the two-day festival looks beyond the usual Hollywood portrayals of black women and tells real stories about their experiences, viewpoints, and lifestyles.

Now that Tavi Gevinson and Petra Collins are in L.A. they're excited to present Strange Magic, a week-long art show, installation, pop-up shop and series of events at Urban Outfitters' Space 15 Twenty. Strange Magic is a love letter to friendship and fandom, specifically as viewed through the eyes of a teenage girl. The opening party is the 21^st and the art show lasts until the 28^th.
