According to Hollywood Reporter , Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame has been pegged to play rocker Joan Jett in the Runaways movie. She’s already working on her bad reputation (heh-sorry) so we’ll see how she does, it’s not a bad choice actually. We were speculating back in June that it should be Ellen Page or Olivia Thirby. What do you think? I personally love the Runaways, so am excited to see it, apparently Joan is a producer as well.

I think Kristen is a good choice. She’d definitely a little rough around the edges and I think she can pull it off. But wait, I’m still trippin’ on the fact that there will be a runaways movie, how awesome is that?!
I so wanted to be Joan Jett back in the day. Even scored a bootleg copy of “Live in Japan”~
Who is this Kristen chick and what is “‘Twilight’, please? Because if she’s gonna play Joan believably she’s gonna have to be do a complete transformation like Marion Cotillard in La Vie En Rose. Okay maybe that’s not a good example since Joan isn’t a junkie anymore. But my point is it’s got to be a very real portrayal otherwise old, hardcore, Runawways/Joan fans like myself are gonna buy it. My vote would be for my fave young actress Alison Loman (did I spell it right?). She’s got the goods to pull it off.
I must be the only female who hasn’t seen Twilight and I don’t plan to see but I am not a Kristen Stewart fan. I think she’s a but arrogant in interviews and the way she portrays characters on the screen. I love Joan Jett she is my Idol. She is not arrogant and is a genuine bad ass attitude that comes off very sexy. I don’t think Kristen Stewart is right but that’s just my thoughts. I hope she can pull it off because I love the runaways and I would not want a movie about them to bomb.
