The girls of the 1920s who called themselves “flappers” weren’t just about bobbed hair and short skirts. Instead, they were more like female revolutionaries who changed the world for women—forever. In 1922, Ellen Welles Page sat down and penned a letter for the weekly New York magazine Outlook. “If one judges by appearances,” she wrote, “I suppose I am a flapper. I am within the age limit. I wear bobbed hair, the ... Read More

Over here at BUST, we're afraid. We're afraid of tonite, because then we will see the very last episode of 30 Rock ever, and there will never be another new 30 Rock episode, and we will all be forced to watch episodes we've already seen. But maybe that won't be so bad. Although we're not quite sure how we can go on in life without our regular Thursday night routine of 30 Rock  'n night cheese,  at least with the show in syndication we can have the ... Read More
Dennis Storm and Valerio Zena, the hosts of a Dutch TV show called "Guinea Pigs," have done lots of crazy things before, including eating bits of each other's flesh. But in this episode, the men wanted to have the chance to experience what women go through during labor--and boy did they ever. With electrodes on their stomach simulating contractions, which got stronger over time, and a labor that was scheduled to last two hours, the men laughed, screamed, and ... Read More

We love us some Louis CK around here, so we were super disappointed when news came out that he had tweeted his support of Daniel Tosh during the time of the rape joke controversy that surrounded him. Louis must have been pretty disappointed about it himself, so he went on The Daily Show last nite, basically to explain his position. He said that he was on vacation in Vermont, detached from the internet, and decided to tweet that he enjoyed Daniel Tosh's humor ... Read More
I'm really loving the new TV Series, "Up All Night." I think it sort of has the potential to be kind of a 30 Rock, but about parenting. The show has a fantastic cast: Christina Applegate, demonstrating her great comedic abilities; Mr. Amy Poehler, Will Arnett; and our beloved Maya Rudolph as a sort of cross between Oprah and Tracy Jordan. And the fact that the show is written by a woman doesn't hurt, either. To get a sense of her character's nuttiness, check out ... Read More
By now you probably know about the Great Tampocolypse of 2011 -- the mysterious disappearance of o.b. tampons from drugstore's shelves. But since that post was written, the o.b. peeps have updated their site. Now it reads: "To our valued customers: o.b.® tampons are now shipping. There may be a delay of a few days or weeks to reach your area, but we are working with retailers across the country to restock store shelves as soon as possible. Please refer ... Read More
It happened slowly. Drugstores' stocks of ob tampons began slowly dwindling. You probably figured your drugstore sucked and never restocks their shelves with anything anyway, and that eventually your trusted, beloved ob tampon would reappear. But they haven't. As it's been reported on elsewhere, it's not just your drugstore that's out of them. In fact, ob tampons are now nowhere to be found. Which is why they are now showing up on ebay, selling for $50 a ... Read More
