| Too Sexy For Your Business Suit? | N/A | After Debrahlee's story came out in the Village Voice, she received a lot of media attention (A LOT since I wrote this post). She may not be the best spokeswoman for discrimination and sexism in the workplace due to her slightly self-obsessed comments, but her bosses actions remain the same. It is really upsetting that she couldn't make her case more about how she was treated than how "hot" she is, but our society's view of beauty (and apparently manhunting) has a big role in how she sees herself. The fact that pretty much all other news sources are highlighting her "hotness" is a reflection on how she presents her case and herself. Unfortunately, the real issue at hand can't compete with a history of plastic surgery and air-head quotes. |
