Shameless Post About Models: The Supers	N/A	Hi Anna Ominous- you are right in saying that we should not place more value on on body type over another---but I do think the fact that the modeling industry obviously values models who are extremely young/young looking, even in publications like Vogue that are marketed to an older audience, is quite indicative of a cultural trend. Many models start at 13 or 14 and are considered too old or grown-up looking soon after, so they truly are girls, and the girl(ish) aesthetic is what is dominant. And the poses, the clothing, and everything else that contributes to an editorial will often reinforce a passive, childish feel. As for modeling today, I don't think these ladies would be successful. Any differences are ultimately going to be subtle as obviously all these models represent a somewhat similar ideal, but I think the norm has changed. You don't see photos like the one of Naomi Campbell here in today's fashion mags.
Tangled and the Future of the Fairy Tale	N/A	When I was a kid I was always hoping that characters like Muppets or Bugs Bunny were girls since their intended gender was hard to figure out. Then I always found out they were indeed male and was very disappointed. But I also think girls are more willing to watch male protagonists because we're told the stories of male protagonists are universal. I missed Coraline, I would like to see it!
