Gabourey Sidibe was on the receiving end of a stream of hate for her outfit choice Sunday night at the Golden Globes. She wants you to know that you should have taken out an insurance policy on your negative opinion, because it was more than a waste of time.

The American Horror Story: Coven star took to Twitter yesterday morning and issued a snarky response that was anything but passive aggressive (read: awesome). In fact, I’m almost positive that I heard Rihanna--Twitter’s resident queen of the 140 character hater-backhand--cheering in the background.

I think we can all agree that fat-shaming and any other kind of body shaming is, to quote Ms. Stacey Ferguson, "2000 & late," and Gabby's refusal to become a celebrity punching bag is beautiful and beyond fierce, and apparently we're not alone:

Here's to 2014, and hoping that the rest of the year will be much less crowded with fat-shaming, misogynist drones. In the meantime we are fully celebrating the ladies taking back their bodies, their confidence, and throwing down the gauntlet when the trolls come out to play. Bow down.
