I’m not sure about you, but I was super psyched about the latest SNL with Host Lena Dunham and Musical Guest The National; a double win in my book. The promos for the episode - featuring Lena and Kate McKinnon - had me for-real cry-laughing. I thought I would never get over the departure of Kristen Wiig in 2012, but I think I'll be alright if this comedic genius continues. 2014 has been a pretty awesome year for Dunham: she released ... Listen up, marshmallows – the good news about the Veronica Mars movie just keeps rolling in, and we couldn’t be more excited.
To catch you up on a little VMars history, the brilliant series was on air from 2004 to 2007, starring Kristen Bell as a feminist heroine who kicked major ass and addressed her own vulnerability in equal parts.
The show had everything: a tightly plotted mystery, the sluethiest, snarkiest scenes, ... Read More

You know his voice. As the lights dim leisurely, as you reach for your second handful of perfectly salted popcorn, as you are beseeched, repeatedly, to please silence your phones – you hear his familiar intonations greet your ears hello.
And yet, why is the narrator always a he?The trailer for Lake Bell’s In A World... is finally out (we’ve been excited about this for a while; refer back to 10 Must-See Lady-Friendly Summer Flicks)! The ... Read More

How different would 30 Rock be without flaxen-haired, diva-voiced Jane Krakowski? Here’s your chance to find out! Check out this four-minute video, unearthed by Buzzfeed, of the ORIGINAL pilot of 30 Rock, with SNL alum Rachel Dratch playing “Jenna DeCarlo” instead of Jenna Maroney. The whole vibe of the show is different; Krakowski’s high-strung and incessant attempts at fame are replaced by Dratch’s shenanigans as a weirder, cooler ... Ever feel akin to Cookie Monster cheerily exclaiming, “Me so hungry,” when it comes to news on Tina Fey? Then you’re in for a sweet treat: according to Vulture, Fey is currently slated to be in the Muppets sequel, following 2011’s smash hit headlining Jason Segel and Amy Adams, and more importantly, Kermit and Miss Piggy.
Fey, who always seems to be juggling a dozen projects, is even busier than usual – what with wrapping up the fan ... Read More

I love drag. I always have; when I was about five years old I apparently watched the classic drag movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert so often that the tape of the VHS wore out. Now, 16 years later, I watch just about everything online, so there’s no problem if I want to watch the same thing over and over, like I’ve done with the first season of “Rupaul’s Drag U.”
But soon there will be a new batch of women ... Read More

A teen drama without any thin actresses...
For the past few weeks I’ve been constantly passing this ad (left) for the new ABC Family series Huge.
And each time I see it, I feel a weird mix of emotions.
On one hand, the ad features a plus sized girl (Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky) in a bathing suit. On the other hand, she looks depressed and is trying to cover her stomach.
Either way, it effectively sparked my ... Read More

I feel as though I should start with a declaimer:
Content in this blog may be unsuitable for children. Actually, if you’re a girl under the age of 18, please don’t continue reading. I don’t want to be responsible for exposing an entire generation of young woman to this. So just go do your homework or something.
It’s unclear whether this dance move originated in Brazilian nightclubs or their bedrooms, but I can only assume ... Read More

Apparently, Oprah received some flak for not having Sarah Palin on her show during the presidential election. Oprah states that Palin's team never asked for her to be on the show and besides, why should they have? They probably knew like the rest of us that lady O was a huge Obama supporter from the start.
Anyhoo, Oprah will feature Ms. Palin on Nov. 16th, the day before Going Rogue: An American Life, lands in bookstores. If you're like me, you could care less ... Read More
