Do Knit Disturb!

Posted by: shannon carlin in Crafty |

Over the last year I’ve become pretty obsessed with yarn bombing so the idea of a hotel room that is made completely out of wool sounds pretty amazing. Call it the “Do Knit Disturb” room (an adorable touch, I might add!) and I’m already packing my bags to get across the pond. For this particular room at Brighton’s Hotel Pelirocco, local artist, ...   Get ready for the woman with coolest name ever: Jazz Domino Holly! It gets better though; Holly is an empowered crafter who’s launched a new book called Queen of Crafts. Not to mention she’s also the daughter of punk rock legend Joe Strummer of the Clash. Much of the furniture featured is from Olek's own apartment, including her bed, which she apparently misses so much that ... Read More

I’ve seen some bad crafty pieces in my time (Regretsy anyone?), but this is definitely not one of them. This Portland-based artist deserves a medal for the meticulous work she puts into her gorgeous crochet pieces. She does amazing, detailed face paintings and city drawings as well, but it’s her crochet works of faces and cityscapes that are really special.    To see more of her amazing yarn works, check out the ...
