There’s a new blog that has us in stitches, and you need to check it out if you wanna get your daily laugh on. The Tumblr “Is This Feminist?” features what stock photos of women doing regular things-- laundry, science experiments, eating salad-- and asks the burning question of each: is this feminist?
The blog votes every photo as either "representing feminism" or "problematic." One problematic candidate is the woman below doing laundry. Is this ... Read More

Girl Walks into a Bar is a memoir by former Saturday Night Live cast member Rachel Dratch, perhaps best known for her character Debbie Downer. Here, Dratch recounts her career experiences (before, during, and after SNL), her attempts at dating, and her unexpected yet welcomed pregnancy at age 43.
As you might expect, “Girl” is laugh-out-loud funny, with humorous tangents aplenty. Dratch describes her long, persistent journey (often being passed ... Read More
I've always wanted to see how the other half lives. In my daydreams, I was swapping lives with a millionaire. Or a celebrity. Or, you know, at least another person.
Introducing: Villa Hamster. A luxury resort in France where people pay real, human money to be treated like hamsters.Apparently when you have enough money, normal vacations are boring. Who wants to see the French Riviera? Done it. The Eiffel Tower? Child, please.
109 Euros (that's $143 USD!) ... Read More
I forget that men are also affected by the culture that preaches coupling and romance over single life. Though the statistics are proving that we—lady and boy—Americans are living la vida solo more and more, our cultural anxieties to find “the one” and to be in a “together” has not stopped. And that is where New York based comedian/actor/writer Rob Michael Hugel comes in. He takes the deep neurosis of a young, single, ... Read More

Most of my daily activities require me to behave as if I'm far more mature than I actually am. Taking the subway without giggling at other peoples’ conversations or engaging in staring contests with small children: definitely a struggle. So when I stumble across something that elicits adolescent squeals of joy from my inner pre-teen, I have to share it.
Enter this Tumblr: #whatshouldwecallme. A collection of gifs set to scenarios, they are spot on and ... Read More
Nowhere in my life does the statement "The grass is always greener on the other side" ring truer than when it comes to my haircut. If my locks are long, I dream of lopping them off, and if my hair is short, all I want is to be able to braid it down my back like those girls on Tumblr. The most intense source of my hair anxiety, though, is whether or not to get bangs. Girls with fringe seem to always be walkin' on sunshine, seem to just know how to wear those weird ... Read More
We love Portlandia, so we were tickled by the new Entertainment Weekly-exclusive short Portlandia: Deam of the 1890s. I wonder how they get through their takes, 'cause I can't hold back the laugh-tears. I especially love Fred Armisen's faux-bearded face in this one, and Carrie is as hilarious as ever. This could easily apply to Brooklyn, too. Go ahead, watch: It's as if President McKinley never got assassinated.
'Portlandia': Go back to the 1890s ... Read More

Remember that time when Christopher Hitchens wrote that whole ridiculous thing about how women aren’t funny? Yeah, I forgot about that too since I’ve been too busy laughing along with all the funny ladies who are staking their claim on the comedy scene.
From Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who get us lizzing every Thursday night to Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and rest of the bridesmaids who made the prospect of getting food poisoning a lot more ... Read More

List this one under "Reasons Why I Love the Internet", because this website dedicated to photographs of Morrissey posing with cats is nothing but PURE JOY. Morrissey, is my favorite mopey, angst-ridden musician. He understands doomed relationships, being lonely in nightclubs, wanting to bludgeon people in their beds... and cats.
Morrissey is a passionate animal rights advocate, and has worked a lot with PETA, so it's not completely random that he has so many ... Read More

I don't enjoy watching things like Animal Planet. While the footage is usually pretty neat, the narration totally kills it for me. So boring! Enter the YouTube series Randall's Animals. A sample line from "The Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger": "Here's a house full of bees. You think the honey badger cares? It doesn't give a shit. It goes right into the house of bees to get some larvae. How disgusting is that? It eats larvae!" I think I've found my remedy. Check ... Read More
