Marnie Stern is rock personified. She writes the kind of music you can thrash around to (or ride your bike to and feel badass), and is just plain cool.
Before the release of her fourth album The Chronicles of Marmia back in March, Stern hit up the SXSW festival. Luckily, MTV’s Weird Vibes were there to film it, producing the short documentary ‘This Is Marnie Stern’.

During the first day of BUST’s three-day showcase at SXSW, we were graced with the beautiful sounds of dream-poppers Widowspeak at the Pussy Palace. The indie rockers’ Western-influenced sound was a perfect fit for Austin (duh), and Molly Hamilton’s soft-sung vocals created a chill, almost ethereal atmosphere.
