Anderson Cooper did not light any children's dolls on fire, but he did kick a Barbie off his show. A real life Barbie.
On Tuesday, Sarah Burge, dubbed the "real life Barbie" because of her extensive plastic surgeries, chatted with Cooper on his show. Cooper, known to most to be a pretty nice guy, and even known to break down from time to time in a fit of adorably contagious giggles, became visibly angry when the two began to discuss Burge's daughters.

Barbie has inspired art from the likes of Andy Warhol and Karl Lagerfeld, both of whom are lauded for their doll-themed works on the Barbie website. Painter Daena Title probably won’t be added to that list anytime soon. In her latest series, “Drown the Dolls,” Barbie is murdered at the hands of anonymous prepubescent girls.

Greenpeace UK recently launched a new campaign against toy companies’ (excessive and unnecessary) packaging which use resources that are destroying Indonesian rainforests, and thereby endangering orangutans, elephants, and tigers. Their target is Mattel, if only because of the advertising they’ve created with the trademark Barbie image, but Disney, Hasbro, Lego and more are also to blame.
