Good morning! The fact that it's just shy of noon and here you are – on a weekday! – suggests that you, amigo, are rolling fast down the hill of procrastinating at whatever it is you call “work.” You've made the usual rounds, of course: Facebook, Twitter, that flickering, guilty glance at The New York Times or Huffington Post – but your dallying is eventually fruitless. Because someone has put up an eye-catching “Twenty Disney ... Read More

My Milk Toof is a series of stories inspired by baby teeth. I'd never heard of the term before, but artist Inhae Renee Lee is fascinated by "milk teeth," AKA your primary teeth. She created two itty-bitty BFF tooth characters, ickle and Lardee (intentional uncapitalization), who go on adventures in their home, sometimes with their pet fish, Carrot. ickle, the smart studious "toof," and Lardee, the plump, fun-loving "toof," are made of polymer clay and painted with ... UMass students Kaelyn Siverksy and Grace Brown are giving rape survivors a voice with Project Unbreakable. Victims write quotes or stories that involve their assault on white posterboard. Project Unbreakable posts photos of these participants holding their poster to the blog. People involved in the program are survivors of various types of attacks and choose a vast array of words to include on their board. Some display threats or insults from their rapist ... Read More

If you’ve ever had a long mansplanation given to you, you could find yourself needing to vent about it. (“Mansplaining” is when someone gives you a patronizing and often extraneous explanation of something that you already know about, assuming that your pretty little woman brain wouldn’t have this knowledge already because, well, you’re a woman).
Luckily, there is a Tumblr where you can share these special mansplanation moments with ... Read More

Not much makes sense in life, and not much seems fair, but my new favorite Tumblr, Fairy Tales for Twenty-Somethings, helps validate life's little insecurities by a) poking fun of them and taking away their power and b) capturing them accurately enough to reassure millennial bundles of anxiety that we’re not alone in our neurosis.
Peruse, laugh, cry, laugh some more.

From the moment I saw I Was Told There’d Be Cake on the bookshelf, I knew Sloane Crosley was a girl after my heart and taste buds. As a 17 year-old, I have looked to my fellow New Yorker’s escapades as letters from an imaginary older sister. Although I am interested in a career as a style journalist, I also am very interested in keeping up with all of my mini-essays that I hash out in my own diary.
Sloane herself is part ... Read More

You know how it goes. It’s that trite rom-com cliché that’s been done over and over again: a guy likes a girl who sees him as just a “friend.” This guy is usually the one that treats the girl right, listens to her, let’s her know how wonderful she truly is, despite how the world has mistreated her, blah blah blah. And then he gets pissed when she doesn’t want to bone him.
Really? Like, you two were FRIENDS! ... Read More

These days, with digitized media following you everywhere you go, a watch may no longer seem necessary for telling time. However, there's nothing I love more than being able to tell if I'm running late in the shower or during my SAT classes—I’d like to think watches are still as much of piece of jewelry as any other accessory. But for those of you who still think the watch is antiquated, V-ZA-V™, a new start-up company, is ready to prove ... Read More

Embroidery enthusiast Lucky Jackson has made it her mission to create a new work of embroidery for every day of the year, with the clever mantra "Less Bitchin' More Stitchin'" in mind, according to her Etsy shop announcement. And if that’s not ambitious enough, her project is already taking on a second year of operation.
After Jackson finishes a piece, she posts it on her website for viewers to comment on and ask questions ... Read More
As of a year ago yesterday, the internet has been invaded with live streams of cute animals, rants and raves on seemingly everything on TV and the silver screen ever, and a lot of baller nail art. This sparkly invasion is brought to you by the infectious laughter of HelloGiggles, an online community pitched as "the female alternative to funny or die," created by the Queen of all things Adorable herself Zooey Deschanel with friends Sophia Rossi and Molly ...
